Vegan individuals also oppose the psychological and physical stress that animals endure as a result of modern farming practices. Moreover, many vegans oppose the practices of the farming industry, such as the grinding of live male chicks by the egg industry or the forced feeding of ducks and geese for the foie gras market, and they sometimes invite the masses to be conscious of these issues through various protests.
