Veganism is on the Rise in the World

Today, the word vegan is emerging more than ever in food magazines and restaurant menus. This is no coincidence, veganism is on the rise and there are many statistics to prove this. According to a study based on 2019, approximately 4 million people in our country define themselves as vegan.

In the US, there has been a 600% increase in people who define themselves as vegan in the last three years. Only 2014% of US consumers claimed to be vegan in 1, according to a report by research firm GlobalData. And in 2017 this number rose to 6%.

A 3% increase in veganism in just 600 years in the US is a staggering statistic. It's pretty clear that more and more people are turning to a plant-based lifestyle.

This shift in people's dietary decision isn't just within the United States. Although the adoption of a plant-based lifestyle started as an extreme movement, it has now become a mass phenomenon all over the world. Search data from Google Trends shows an impressive worldwide increase in vegan interest from 2004 to 2018.

Currently, seven percent, or about 3,5 million people in the UK alone are defined as vegan. However, although the US and the UK complete the top 3 vegan countries as a percentage, India ranks first with veganism covering 27% of the population.
